  11. This concerns a very recent product, the DKB RapidFire SCSI controller 
  12. which only came out a few weeks ago. I have contacted DKB, but the week
  13. end has come, and I have a sinking feeling my problems have more to do 
  14. with compatibility than with the rapidset config files which they had me 
  15. email them. I will cut to the chase:

  25. With this, the agreed upon  configuration, the harddrive and 
  26. scanner are both unrecognized. When scanner is disconected hard drive is 
  27. recognized as long as either the board or the drive is terminated.  It is 
  28. recognized even if both board and drive are terminated.

  30. The external device, the scanner, has lots of problems though. With hd 
  31. disconected, board terminated, scanner unterminated, scanner crashes 
  32. durring scan. With Scanner terminated, board unterminated, system crashes 
  33. after booting up.  Funny thing is if hard drive is connected and 
  34. terminated along with board, the scanner is a little bit more stable, but 
  35. ultimately crashes. (hard drive, of course is not recognized)

  37. I have a a4000, with OS3.1, rev 9 buster,(should it matter?), computer 
  38. boots off amiga 120mb scsi emulating ide drive.

  43. BTW, I exchanged a DataFlyer 4000SX scsi card for this one because the 
  44. DataFlyer had soldered termination resistors - where as the RapidFire's 
  45. terminators are socketed.  But the scanner worked nearly flawlessly on 
  46. the dataflyer, so did the hard drive - just not at the same time - 
  47. because the board couldn't be unterminated. So I guess I exchanged
  48. problems.
